The NEF Institute of Innovation and Knowledge Exchange

As a professional body for innovation, the NEF Institute of Innovation and Knowledge Exchange (IKE) focuses on sharing experiences in order to inspire opportunities for economic growth, to support innovative leadership and help improve social well-being.

Guided by its Innovation Council, IKE brings together business and educational leaders, financiers, entrepreneurs, inventors, thinkers, researchers and policy makers to:

  • Improve capability in innovation;
  • Foster a spirit of openness to new ideas;
  • Promote active horizon-scanning;
  • Exchange ideas about the nature and impact of future trends
  • Identify the impact of future trends on industry, enterprise and education; and
  • Provide practical support and resources to help better thinking about the future.

The Institute helps develop a culture of innovation throughout our partner organisations. We do this by:

  • Helping them to understand what innovation means and what it can do for their future growth and success;
  • Encouraging collaboration to share innovation through Knowledge and Technology Exchange; and
  • Helping them develop the “creative habit” by continually challenging the norm.
